Dear companions,

              It was with immense consternation, that Brazilian people woke up in this Thursday, knowing about the decease of  president Yasser Arafat.

               President Arafat was the symbol of the major struggle and resistance of Palestine people for their national freedom, self-determination and  motherland independence. In  this condition, he has received active and militant  admiration and solidarity from all democratic peoples around the world. In this moment all of them are lamenting his death.

               Arafat’s decease was just a physical one, since his name and his work will continue inspiring the Palestine people in their libertarian struggle and will become an lively example for all peoples of world to combat the colonialism, the occupation of sovereign countries by imperialist aggressors.

              The Communist Party of Brazil – PCdoB, on behalf of your militancy  and  Brazilian people, would like declare  its condolences to his family, his fellows from Palestine Liberation Organization, from Palestine National Authority and all Palestine people.

              Finally, we are glad to inform you that due this lamentable fact, our Party  has decided send a representative from its leadership to Cairo – integrating the Brazilian government official delegation – to perform the last homage to this great Palestine leader.

                          We are sure that Palestine people will know transforming their sorrow  due this uncalculating loss in strength to struggle.  

Long live to a Free and Independent Palestine!
